HIP Circular & Digital

Food Pioneers becomes the twelfth partner in HIP Circular & Digital

Since 1 July 2025, Food Pioneers has been a partner in HIP Circular & Digital, one of 15 national National Growth Fund collaborations in which education, government and business join forces. The goal: to build a future-proof, sustainable economy together. We train talent with the skills needed for tomorrow’s labour market and connect education and practice through the Food Campus, with concrete programmes that strengthen the circular food chain in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area and Flevoland.

Food Pioneers presents during HIP Circular & Digital at the Food Campus.

From research to impact

What we do together

We organize programs and activities in close collaboration with ROC van Flevoland, including:

Harvest Days at De Lelystadse Boer

During the Harvest Days, 600 primary school pupils from Lelystad head out into the fields, see how vegetables grow and help with the harvest. Afterwards, they cook a fresh dish together with Tommy Tomato using what they picked themselves.

Food Impactmakers (mbo, multi-day)

A multi-day educational program for vocational (mbo) students from different courses who work together on food-related challenges. This programme ties in with our Think Tanks.

Food Labs (theme days)

Theme days focusing on circularity and combating food waste. Think local and seasonal cooking or nose-to-tail approaches, linked to our Food Labs.

Challenges

Short, energetic projects in which student teams rapidly develop solutions, prototypes, or concepts for societal issues (e.g., sustainability or food waste). Check our calendar for current challenges and events.

Partners in this collaboration

On July 1, 2025, Food Pioneers became the twelfth partner to join HIP Circular & Digital: a collaboration between ROC van Amsterdam-Flevoland, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Windesheim University of Applied Sciences, businesses, regional governments, and various profit and non-profit organizations.
