The place for education, research and food innovation

Students present their food innovation projects at the Food Campus. Sustainable solutions in a modern space.

The Food Campus is the educational core of Food Pioneers. Here, we connect education and practice through multidisciplinary collaboration and evidence-based research.

How we work

Choose the component that fits your question or challenge:

  1. Think Tanks – practice-based learning on real-world food challenges with businesses and governments.

  2. Action research – translating scientific insights into practical solutions for the region.

  3. Knowledge vouchers – demand-driven support for educational institutions and organisations looking to innovate.

  4. HIP Circular & Digital – partner in the National Growth Fund programme focused on circular and digital skills.

Why education plays a key role

Knowledge only becomes valuable when it is applied in practice. By connecting vocational schools, universities of applied sciences and universities with companies, governments and residents, we accelerate innovation and train future-proof food professionals. This approach aligns directly with our Living Lab methodology.

Collaboration with knowledge institutions

We work together with partners such as Wageningen University & Research, Aeres/Green Academy, Yuverta/Aeres, HvA/AMS Institute and SOM/SOL. Through these partnerships, we facilitate exchange between education, research and practice.

What does the Food Campus deliver?

  • Practical solutions for regional food challenges

  • Continuous learning pathways: from classroom to Living Lab

  • New collaborations between education, government and businesses, tailored to the different audiences on our For whom page
