Almere's biggest picknick

On Saturday 19 September, Polder Parade is organising Almere’s biggest potluck picnic during the Oogstfeest of Almeerse Weelde. Almere is celebrating its 50th anniversary, while Almeerse Weelde is marking 15 years. A festive picnic is a fitting way to bring both milestones together.
The idea is simple: everyone brings something to share. A homemade dish, drink or dessert, preferably made with ingredients from the local area. Everything comes together on the table, giving visitors the chance to taste what other people from Almere have made.
Creating the city’s biggest picnic blanket together
In the run-up to the picnic, Polder Parade is collecting tea towels from across Almere. An old kitchen towel, one that belonged to your grandmother, a towel with stains, memories or simply a beautiful print: they are all welcome.
The tea towels will be joined together to create one large picnic blanket for the city. You can hand in your tea towel at one of the collection points in Almere, including the VVV shop at Schutterstraat 17, in the same building where Food Pioneers is located.
