Challenge Rations: Dutch Ministry of Defence seeks partners for armed forces food supply

The Dutch Ministry of Defence is looking for companies and knowledge institutions from the food and packaging sectors to help develop a robust and future-proof food supply for the armed forces. Through the procurement challenge Rations, the Ministry aims to work with partners on solutions that remain reliable even under demanding conditions.


A complete solution for the ration chain

The challenge is designed to ultimately result in a contract with one or more partners that can provide an integrated solution for the ration chain.


The process will take place within the Strategic Defence Innovation Research framework. This provides clear specifications, while also leaving room for dialogue. This helps create better solutions and offers a transparent, level playing field for both established and new players in the market.


Information meeting on 3 July

On 3 July, a first meeting will take place for registered companies. During this meeting, the Ministry of Defence will explain the challenge process. The military context and the specific needs around operational rations will also be discussed.
